William McKinley Bowling, 86, of Ricetown, Kentucky passed away Sunday, July 12, 2026 at his residence following a long illness.  

McKinley was born March 3, 1940 in Owsley County, Kentucky.  He was the son of the late Johnny and Grace Spence Bowling. McKinley worked as a carpenter and faithfully attended the Indian Creek Church where he was an elder for many years.

McKinley is survived by his wife Mrs. Susie Marshall Bowling of Ricetown, Kentucky; his son Mr. Michael “Ashley” Bowling of Ricetown, Kentucky; five grandchildren Mrs. Kaitlyn “Justin” Durr of Booneville, Kentucky, Landon Holland, Logan Holland, Karter Bowling and Greyson Bowling all of Beattyville, Kentucky; three great grandchildren Jaxon, Jace and James Durr of Booneville, Kentucky; three brothers Mr. Stanley Bowling of Reading, Ohio, Mr. Paul “Linda” Bowling of Ricetown, Kentucky, Mr. Caleb Bowling of Ricetown, Kentucky; two sisters Mrs. Erma Lee Green of Batavia, Ohio, Mrs. Elizabeth Kay “Harold” Medors of Bethel, Ohio and several nieces, nephews, relative and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents Johnny and Grace Spence Bowling, six brothers James, Elwood, Clayton, Raymond, Clarence & Lonnie Bowling and one sister Addie Faye Vandepitte.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 15, 2026 from 11:00 am until 12:00 noon at the Indian Creek Church.  Funeral following with Brother Terry Sandlin officiating. Burial will follow at the Esau-Gabbard Cemetery, Indian Creek, Kentucky.
