Wanda Amis Wilder, 78, of Booneville, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at the Owsley County Health Care Center in Booneville, Kentucky following a long illness.

Wanda was born September 13, 1947 in Owsley County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late Edd and Opal Gray Amis. Wanda was a homemaker and a member of the Fountainhead Baptist Church.

Wanda is survived by her son Mr. Eric “Amy” Cooper of Salisbury, North Carolina; four grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Virginia “Rolfes” Hensley of Crescent Springs, Kentucky; two nieces, one nephew, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents Edd and Opal Gray Amis; one sister, Teresa Amis and one brother, Eugene Amis.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 19, 2026 from 2:45 pm until 3:30 pm at Searcy and Strong Funeral Home. Graveside service will be Sunday, July 19, 2026 at 4:00 pm at the Baker-Amis Cemetery with Brother Rob Morgan officiating. Burial will follow at the Baker-Amis Cemetery, Grassy Branch, Kentucky.
