Virgil Gabbard

Mr. Virgil Gabbard, 83, of Booneville, Kentucky passed away April 27, 2025 at the Lake Cumberland Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky following a long illness.

Virgil was born May 14, 1941 in Owsley County, Kentucky.  He was the son of the late Edd and Nancy Jane Madden Gabbard.  Virgil was a farmer.

Virgil is survived by his two brothers Mr. Paul Gabbard of Booneville, Kentucky and Mr. Luther Gabbard of Booneville, Kentucky.  Also, he leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and relatives.

He is preceded in death by his parents Edd and Nancy Jane Madden Gabbard, one sister Oda Stanton and two brothers Walker Gabbard and Jesse Gabbard.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 1, 2025 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Searcy and Strong Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be Thursday, May 1, 2025 at 1:00 pm at the Searcy and Strong Funeral Home with Brother Bernard Ward and Brother Wayne Gibson officiating.  Burial following in the Union Cemetery in Jackson County, Kentucky.

The Searcy and Strong Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
