Sylvia Gabbard, 77, of Booneville, Kentucky passed away Saturday, September 13, 2025 at her residence following a sudden illness.

Sylvia was born March 23, 1948 in Oneida, Kentucky.  She was the daughter of the late Mitchell and Gracie Sester Gabbard.  Sylvia was a former factory worker and member of the White Harvest Holiness Church.

Sylvia is survived by her sister Mrs. Debbie "Clifton" Ridgeway of Booneville, Kentucky, two brothers Mr. Mitchell "Ruth Ann" Gabbard of Booneville, Kentucky, Mr. Anthony "Allison" Gabbard of Ustes, Florida and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents Mitchell and Gracie Sester Gabbard, four sisters Rosetta Barrett, Phyllis Ann Barrett, Helen Marshall, Oddie Edwards, one niece Tabitha Barrett Burns, two nephews Brandon Gabbard and Joseph Barrett.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 17, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Searcy and Strong Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be Thursday, September 18, 2025 at 12:00 noon at the Searcy and Strong Funeral Home with Brother Joe Himes and Sister Robin Himes officiating.  Burial will follow at the Esau-Gabbard Cemetery, Indian Creek, Kentucky.
