Shonda Renee Callahan, 53, of Ricetown, Kentucky passed away Friday, October 24, 2025 at the Kentucky River Medical Center in Jackson, Kentucky following a long illness.

Shonda was born May 15, 1972 in Manchester, Kentucky.  She is the daughter of Gordon Callahan and Emma Baker Callahan.  Shonda was homemaker and a member of the Indian Creek Church.

Shonda is survived by her son Mr. Dakota Callahan of Ricetown, Kentucky, her father Mr. Gordon Callahan of Ricetown, Ky, her mother Mrs. Emma Baker Callahan of Booneville, Kentucky, three sisters Ms. Sheila Baker, Ms. Sherry Callahan, Ms. Jessica Callahan all of Booneville, Kentucky and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents Oscar and Ida Callahan and Moody and Ruby Baker.

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 28, 2025 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Searcy and Strong Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Searcy and Strong Funeral Home with Brother Terry Sandlin officiating.  Burial will follow at the Esau-Gabbard Cemetery, Indian Creek, Kentucky.
