Opal Lee Hicks, 58, of Sexton Creek, Kentucky passed away October 15, 2026 at his residence following a long illness.

Opal was born November 21, 1967 in Oneida, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Delzie Lee and Rena Peters Hicks. He had a Bachelor’s degree and was a computer tech. He was a member of the Berean Baptist Church in Batesville, Indiana.

Opal is survived by one brother Mr. Donnie Peters of Sexton, Creek, two sister Ms. Margie Baxter of Manchester, Kentucky and Ms. Carolyn Hicks of Manchester, Kentucky. A host of cousins and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents Delzie Lee and Rena Peters Peters.

Visitation will start at 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, October 19, 2026 at the Searcy and Strong Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 20, 2026 at 3:00 pm at the Searcy and Strong Funeral Home with Brother David Combs officiating. Burial will follow at the Hensley Cemetery, Booneville, Kentucky.
