Opal Harris Carmack Burch,94, of Booneville, Kentucky passed away May 10, 2025 at the Highlands ARH in Prestonsburg, Kentucky following a brief illness.

Opal was born May 24,1930 in Owsley County.  She was the daughter of the late Walter Minus and Susie Peters Harris.  Opal was a homemaker.

Opal is survived by her daughter, Brenda "Gary" Smith of Booneville, Ky; four grandchildren, Melecia "Mike" Barrett, Michael Norris Hudson, Kevin Ray Murrell of Booneville and Rodney Wayne "Melissa" Smith of Beattyville, Ky; great grandchildren, Keith, Austin, Mason, Sabrina, Sierra; great great grandchildren, Nathaniel, Morgan, Klora, Zayne, Xander and Jaylen; a sister, Emma Harris Allen of Shelbyville, Ky;  brother-in-law, Lonnie Burch of Booneville, Ky.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands, Claude Carmack and Gernie Burch; daughters, Carolyn Carmack Hudson and Patsy Carmack Murrell; son-in-law, Norris Hudson; granddaughter, Tammy Tincher; great grandson, Jason Murrell and brothers, Virgil and Garfield Harris.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 13, 2025 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Searcy and Strong Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at 12;00 pm at Searcy and Strong Funeral Home with Brother Brian Collett officiating.  Burial following in the Harris Cemetery in Owsley County, Kentucky.
