Matthew Shannon McIntosh passed away suddenly on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at his residence in Lee County, Kentucky. He was 47.

Born in Hazard, Kentucky, on August 7, 1979, Shannon was the son of Matthew McIntosh and Dorothy B. Roberts McIntosh. He was known in his working life as a mechanic, a trade that reflected his hands-on skill and dedication.

He is survived by his son, Hayden McIntosh of Beattyville; his daughters, Bridget "Rodney" Turner of Jackson, Kentucky, and Christy "Travis" Murrell of Booneville, Kentucky; his father, Matthew McIntosh of Beattyville; his sister, Renee "Marvin" Robbins of Georgetown, Kentucky; and his grandchildren, Jasmine, Andrew, Hunter, Israel, and Zackary. He also leaves behind several other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Neal, and by his mother, Dorothy McIntosh.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 27, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at Searcy & Strong Funeral Home, 1694 Old Kentucky 11, Booneville, Kentucky. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 noon at the funeral home with Brother Mike Spencer officiating. Burial will follow in the McIntosh Family Cemetery in Walk Log, Lee County.
