Mary Elizabeth Herald, 85, of Booneville, Kentucky passed away November 6, 2025 at the Owsley County Health Care Center in Booneville, Kentucky following a long illness.

Mary was born August 19, 1940 in Owsley County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late Daniel Webster and Naomi Brewer Botner. Mary was a homemaker and a member of the Royal Oak Baptist Church.

Mary is survived by her daughters Mrs. Tanya "Conley" Tirey of Booneville, Kentucky and Mrs. Tammy "Elijah" King of Booneville, Kentucky, three
grandsons Mr. Connor Tirey of Booneville, Kentucky, Mr. Cody "Alivia" Gibson of Booneville, Kentucky, Mr. Nicholas Gibson of Florence, Kentucky, three great grandchildren Aviana, Ryatt & Remi Gibson of Booneville, Kentucky, three sisters Mrs. Gladys Bowman, Mrs. Judy Bell and Mrs. Katrina Emerson of Booneville, Kentucky, and several beloved nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and the precious caretakers of Owsley County Health Care Center.

She is preceded in death by her parents Daniel Webster and Naomi Brewer Botner, her husband Wilson Herald, two brothers Glyndon Botner and Webster Botner, Jr. and two sisters Violet Caudell and Shirley Botner.

Visitation will be Monday, November 10, 2025 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm at the Searcy and Strong Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday, November 10, 2025 at 2:00 pm at the Searcy and Strong Funeral Home with Brother Brian Collett officiating. Burial will follow at the Botner Cemetery.
