Margaret Marlene Baker, known to many as Marlene Baker, passed away at her residence in Booneville, Kentucky, on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at the age of 70.

Born on December 11, 1955, Marlene was the daughter of Samuel and Dorothy Dooley Dean. She was a homemaker and attended White Harvest Holiness Church. Her life was centered on her home, her faith, and the people she loved most.

Marlene will be remembered with deep love by her husband, Jackie Baker. She also leaves behind her children, Willie Back and Edward Baker, both of Booneville, Kentucky; Marie “Larry” Tuttle of Middletown, Ohio; Mabel “Gregory” Barrett of Booneville, Kentucky; and June Baker of Booneville, Kentucky. Her family was further blessed by six grandchildren, Becky “Mark” Mitchell, Tiffany Tuttle, Robbie Tuttle, Tamara “Patrick” Dotson, Taylor Back (Gabe Drake), and Taneisha Back. She also leaves one great-grandson, Cooper Drake, and a great-granddaughter on the way, Ellie Mae Dotson.

She is also survived by her brothers, Ken Dean and wife Carol and Art Dean and wife Geraldine, all of Booneville, Kentucky, and by her sister, Darlene Coomer of Beattyville, Kentucky. Marlene’s circle of loved ones also included her special friends, Kelly and Tammy Shouse of Booneville, Kentucky. All who knew her will carry forward cherished memories of her life and love.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Dorothy Dooley Dean.

Visitation will be held Monday, September 28, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Searcy & Strong Funeral Home, 1694 Old Kentucky 11, Booneville, Kentucky. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Searcy & Strong Funeral Home, with Brother Wayne Combs officiating. Burial will follow at Shepherd Memorial Cemetery in Booneville, Kentucky.
