James Elmer "Moose" Morgan, 65, of Booneville, Kentucky passed away Friday, December 26, 2025 in Berea, Kentucky following a long illness.

James was born January 13, 1960 in Cincinnati, Ohio.  He was the son of Etta Lucille Strong Lamb and the late Elmer Ellsworth Morgan.  James was a singer, musician and loved music.

James is survived by his three sons Cameron Morgan, Kelly Morgan and Sean Morgan all of Berea, Ky, two daughters Amber Esh of Dearborn, Michigan and Amy Morgan-Dance of Lexington, Ky.  James is also survived by his mother Etta Lucille Lamb, sister Martha Gail Coffman and brother Eugene Lynn Morgan all of Booneville, along with several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father Elmer Ellsworth Morgan and brother Raymond Howard Morgan.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 31, 2025 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Searcy and Strong Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Searcy and Strong Funeral Home with Jerry Sparks officiating.  Burial will follow in the Vernon & Cliffie Strong Cemetery at Booneville, Ky.
