Charles Howard Hundley Sr., 83, of Booneville, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at his residence following a long illness.

Born on May 27, 1943, in Owsley County, Kentucky, Charles was the son of the late Oscar and Louanna Fields Hundley. He spent his working years as a railroad worker.

He is survived by his wife, Hazel Fugate Hundley of Booneville, Kentucky. He also leaves behind five sons: Charles Hundley Jr. of Connersville, Indiana; Jason Hundley and Nora of Laurel, Indiana; Jeremy Hundley and Andrea of Connersville, Indiana; Ted Hundley and Rachel Ratliff of Booneville, Kentucky; and Dallas Hundley and Mandi Whiteside of Lancaster, South Carolina. He is also survived by two daughters, Bernice Maxie of Laurel, Indiana, and Mary Damron and Danny of Beckley, West Virginia.

In addition to his children, Charles is survived by two stepchildren, Loretta Noble and Eugene Noble of Jackson, Kentucky. His family circle also includes several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is further survived by three brothers, James Hundley of Laurel, Indiana, Edward Hundley of Franklin County, Indiana, and Hansford Hundley of Covington, Kentucky; and by two sisters, Mary Schneider and Marie Thompson of Connersville, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Louanna Fields Hundley; his late wife, Joyce Hundley; one grandchild, Jacob Hundley; one great-grandchild, Camdyn Hundley; one brother, Jerry Hundley; and one sister, Martha Young.

Family and friends will be received for visitation from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 25, 2026, at Searcy & Strong Funeral Home, 1694 Old Kentucky 11, Booneville, Kentucky. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Searcy & Strong Funeral Home with Bro. Shane Gabbard officiating. Burial will follow at the Hundley Family Cemetery in Booneville, Kentucky.
