Obituary

Betty Jean Frost McVey, a devoted registered nurse, passed away peacefully at her residence in Booneville, Kentucky, on May 25, 2026, after a prolonged illness. She was 67 years old.

Born on October 29, 1958, in Oneida, Kentucky, Betty was the beloved daughter of the late Dale and Ruby Caudill Frost. 

She is survived by her loving sons: Mr. Michael Johnson and his wife Rebecca of Shepherdsville, Kentucky; Mr. Justin Johnson and his wife Natasha of Lexington, Kentucky; and Mr. Neil Johnson and his wife Ashley of Booneville, Kentucky. Betty’s life was further enriched by her devoted lifelong companion, Mr. Sherdine Mack McIntosh of Booneville. Her legacy endures in her grandchildren Michaeh, Andrew, Declan, Nathaniel, Cecilia, Noah, Camden, Mila, and Amelia. She also leaves behind great nephews Tyler Turner, Tristan Wilder, Logan Wilder, Charlie Caudill, along with several other nephews, relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Ruby Caudill Frost; her husband, Glen McVey; four brothers, Earl, Robert Wayne, Kenneth, and Clyde; and five sisters, Linda, Anna Faye, Rosemary, Bonnie, and Wanda Christine. 

A Celebration of Life to honor Betty Jean Frost McVey will be held on May 29, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Searcy and Strong Funeral Home, located at 1694 Old Kentucky 11, Booneville, Kentucky 41314. This gathering will provide an opportunity for family, friends, and community members to commemorate her life, share memories, and find comfort in each other’s company.

Betty’s steadfast dedication to nursing and warm-hearted presence touched many lives. Her strength and kindness will be remembered fondly by all who knew her. As her family and friends come together to celebrate her life, they honor the lasting impact she made in their hearts and in the community she loved so dearly.
