Bertie Terry Gumm, 88, of Booneville, KY, daughter of Jalia Roberts (Allen) Caudell and Ray Terry, passed away on August 29, 2025, surrounded by family.

Bertie is survived by her children; Benny Gumm of Booneville, KY, Mike (Vicki) Gumm of Booneville, KY, and Deborah (Paul) Anama of Charlottesville, VA, six grandchildren, Dustin Gumm, Heath Gumm, Joshua (Jennifer) Gumm, Lucas (Crystal) Gumm, Matthew (Rachael) Gumm, and Christopher Anama, and six great grandchildren, Jackson Gumm, Logan Gumm, Jeremiah Gumm, Isaiah Gumm, Sarina Johnston, and Elijah Johnston.

In addition to her parents, Bertie is pre-deceased by her brother, Wayne (Ella) Terry, sister Edith (Tommy) Thomas, and daughter-in-law, Sherry L. Gumm.

Bertie retired from Owsley County Schools early intervention pre-school program and after retirement volunteered with children's literacy program for elementary students.

Searcy and Strong Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  Rev. Jamie Brunk will officiate.  Funeral will be held on Monday, September 1, 2025 at 1PM, with visitation from 11AM – 1PM.  Burial will follow at the Brandenburg Cemetery and Bertie will be laid to rest next to her mother.

Pallbearers are Dustin Gumm, Heath Gumm, Joshua Gumm, Lucas Gumm, Matthew Gumm, and Christopher Anama.
