Barbara Sue Baker Whittaker, 60, of Booneville, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at her residence following a brief illness.

Barbara was born April 21, 966 in Oneida, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late Tom and Alma Jean Roberts Baker. Barbara worked as a accountant for Gary King Wrecker Service & other businesses and attended the Indian Creek Church.

Barbara is survived by her husband Mr. Kevin Whittaker of Booneville, Kentucky; one daughter, Mrs. Brandi “Hector” Lopez of Beattyville, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Mr. Brandon “Jayden Holiday” Little, Mr. Alex Lopez, Ms. Naudia Lopez and Mr. Emilio “Skyler Seale” Lopez all of Beattyville, Kentucky; one brother, Mr. Tommy Jr. Baker of Booneville, Kentucky; one sister, Mrs. Pamela “Larry” Chandler of Booneville, Kentucky; one brother-in-law, Mr. David Woodward of Booneville, Kentucky and several nieces, nephews, relative and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents Tom and Alma Jean Roberts Baker; two sisters, Charlotte McDaniel and Bonnie Woodward; two nephews, Neil Alan Taylor and Lance Chandler.

Visitation will be Friday, July 17, 2026 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Searcy and Strong Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 18, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Searcy and Strong Funeral with Brother Terry Sandlin officiating. Burial will follow at the Esau-Gabbard Cemetery, Indian Creek, Kentucky.
